I Reubin Burnley of Albemarle have lately sold and delivered unto John Watson (S M) a certain Negroe Girl called Penny of the age of twelve Years or thereabouts for and in consideration of the sum of Sixty five pounds, Vir’a Currency to me in hand paid and I do hereby ^warrant and will forever defend the title of the said slave and her increase to him the said Watson, his Heirs and Assigns free from the Claim or Claims of all persons whatsoever – Witness my hand and seal this 20th November 1801.
