Know all men by these presents that I Joseph Fassett of the County of Albemarle and State of Virginia have manumitted, emancipated and set free, and by these presents do manumit, emancipate and set free the following negro slaves to wit Eady and her children, Elizabeth Ann, William, Daniel, Lucy and Jesse and her Grand children James, Joseph, Thomas and Maria Elizabeth an infant. And I hereby declare the said Eady, Elizabeth Ann William, Daniel, Lucy, Jesse, James Joseph, Thomas and Maria Elizabeth to be entirely liberated from slavery and entitled to all the rights and privileges of free persons with which it is in my power to vest them. They the said Eady, Elizabeth Ann, William  Daniel, Lucy, Jesse, James, Joseph, Thomas and Maria Elizabeth hereby emancipated are of the following  Description ages and height viz: Eady a woman of brown complexion 5 feet 2 inches high and 44 years of age. Elizabeth Ann a woman of light complexion 5 feet high twenty four years old. William a boy of light complexion 5 feet 2 inches high 16 years old. Daniel a boy of light complexion 4 feet 7 inches high 13 years old. Lucy of light complexion 4 feet 3 inches high 10 years of age. Jesse of light complexion 3 feet 9 inches high aged 7 years. James a boy of light complexion 3 feet 3 inches high aged 5 yers. Joseph a boy of light complexion 3 feet 2 inches high aged 4 years. Thomas a boy of light complexion 2 feet 7 inches high 2 years of age and Maria Elizabeth an infant of light complexion. This deed of Emancipation was this day presented to me in my said office by Joseph Fassett and acknowledged before me by him & admitted to record. teste Ira Garrett C.C.
