To all to whom these presents shall come:

Know ye, that for divers good caused & Considerations me Hereunto moving, but more especially in consideration of the meritorious Services of my female Slave named Joyce, I have emancipated and set free and by these presents do emancipate and set free the said female Joyce hereby discharging her from all claim of Service from me or any other person, and giving her all the rights and privileges confired on free negroes by the law of this commonwealth. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty ninth day of November in the year of our lord one thousand eighty hundred and five. Wm W Henning {seal}
