This Indenture made in the County of Albemarle and commonwealth of Virginia on the Ninth day of March one thousand eight hundred and one, Witnesseth That we Charles Wingfield, June and Jacob Moon Executors of the last will and Testament of John Hudson deceased, late of the County aforesaid, by virtue of a power vested in us by the will of the said decedent do Emancipate, manumit and make free a negroe man named Cato the Elder and a Negroe woman Called Cloe, which said Negroes, viz Cato the Elder is now of the age of about Sixty five years ^ & Cloe is now of the age of about Sixty five years  ^so that in future they shall be free and of free condition and entirely and fully discharged of all duties and Claims of Servitude whatsoever & Shall have and enjoy all the right and privileges of a freedman & woman, In witness whereof we have hereunto Subscribed our names, and affixed our seals, the day and year above Written. This Deed of Manumission from Charles Wingfield Jun and Jacob Moon Executors of the last will and Testament of John Hudson deceased to a Negroe man named Cato and Cloe his Wife was produced into Court and Acknowledged by Charles Wingfield Jr and Proved by the oath of Samuel Dyer and William Moon as to Jacob Moon & Ordered to be Recorded.
